Privacy Policy
What this site stores, what it does not, and what the games can see.
The short version
This site does not ask you to register and does not build a profile of you. The lists of games you have played and saved are kept in your own browser and never sent to us. The games themselves come from other companies, and those companies see your request the moment you press play.
What is stored in your browser
Two lists are kept in your browser’s local storage:
- Recently played — the games you have opened on this device;
- Favourites — the games you saved with the heart button.
Both stay on your device. They are not transmitted to us, and clearing your browser data removes them for good.
What reaches our server
- Play counts. When a game starts, the page tells our server that this game was started. The record is the game and the time, not who you are. A repeat within the same hour from the same address is not counted again, which is also what keeps the counter honest.
- Problem reports. If you use the Report button we store the game, the reason you picked and the time.
- Server logs. Like any web server, ours records requests, including IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting.
The games are third parties
Games are embedded from their publishers’ own sites. When you press play, your browser connects directly to that publisher, which will see your IP address and may set its own storage inside its own frame. We cannot see inside that frame and we do not control what happens in it. Each game page names its source and its terms — see where our games come from.
Advertising
This site loads no advertising code of its own. There is no ad script on the pages you are reading, and we set no cookies for advertising.
Most of the games do. The catalogue has two parts. The smaller one, added and checked by hand, carries no advertising at all; that was established by opening every one of those games in a browser and recording every request it made, frames included. The larger part comes from a distribution network, and those games show advertising inside their own frame, supplied by their publisher.
Every game page says which of the two it is, and you can see it before you press play. When you do press play on a network game, your browser talks to that publisher and to the advertising services they use — Google’s among them — which will see your IP address and may set their own cookies inside that frame. That happens inside the game’s frame, not on our page: we cannot see into it and we receive nothing from it.
Nothing on this site is required in order to play a game: no account, no registration, no email address.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data is held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to its processing. Because this site holds no account data, most such requests concern server logs. Use the contact page to make one.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
