Which storage this site uses, and which belongs to the games.

What this site uses

Browsing the catalogue sets no tracking cookies. There is no analytics tag and no advertising tag on these pages.

Two things are written to your browser’s local storage, and only when you cause them:

Recently played — written when you start a game;
Favourites — written when you press the heart button.

Local storage is not a cookie: it is never sent to our server. It stays on your device until you clear your browser data.

WordPress cookies

If someone signs in to the site’s admin area, WordPress sets session and preference cookies for that account. Visitors who do not sign in are never given them.

Storage set by games

Games are embedded from other companies. Inside a game’s frame, that company may set its own cookies or storage — usually to remember your progress or a high score. That storage belongs to them and is covered by their policy. Blocking third-party storage in your browser will stop some games from saving progress, and will stop a few of them from starting at all.

Controlling storage

Every browser can clear cookies and local storage and block third-party storage. Doing so removes your recently played and favourites lists and may affect saved progress inside games.

Advertising in games

No advertising code is loaded by this site. Games from the distribution feed load their publisher’s advertising inside their own frame, and the cookies that come with it are set in that frame by those services. If advertising is ever added to the site’s own pages, this page must be updated to name the provider and describe its cookies, and a consent mechanism must be in place before it goes live in regions that require one.
